Install TVNZ+ on a Smart TV

  1. Update the television software.
  2. Open the official app store.
  3. Search for TVNZ+.
  4. Install the official application.

Create or sign in to an account

Use the official TVNZ+ website or app. Keep the account email accessible and use a unique password. When the television displays a code, enter it only on the official TVNZ page.

TVNZ house rules state that a standard account can be linked to up to 25 devices and can have up to five profiles. Special products such as Event Passes may impose different simultaneous-stream limits.

Set up profiles and household use

  • Create separate profiles for household members.
  • Use age-appropriate controls where available.

Watch live channels

Open the Live TV area and test a channel before an important event. Live video is more sensitive to unstable Wi-Fi than on-demand programmes because it cannot build a large buffer without falling behind.

Common TVNZ+ problems

The app is missing

Confirm the model and software version, update the TV and check the account region. Use a supported Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, console or other current device if the television is no longer supported.

The activation code expires

Generate a new code and complete the process immediately. Check the television clock and internet connection.

Video freezes

Use Ethernet, move to stronger Wi-Fi, pause downloads and lower quality temporarily. Test another device on the same network.

No sound or audio delay

Test the TV speakers before changing app settings. Bluetooth can add delay. Restart the app and check HDMI soundbar settings.

Console and browser viewing

Install the TVNZ+ app from the official PlayStation or Xbox store. On desktop, use a supported current browser and allow protected media and required cookies. Connect the laptop charger for long events.

  • Review Event Pass terms before paying.
  • Never share one-time codes.
